About The Position

The Quality Coordinator, Ultrasound PS is a part-time, supplemental position. Hours may vary depending on need. This position is eligible for a 12% supplemental differential. Objective: This position will be responsible to optimize the quality of ultrasound examinations read by IIPS by communicating protocol changes, distributing educational materials, receiving quality feedback from radiologists and delivering relevant criticism to sonographers. The Quality Coordinator, Ultrasound PS will be an ultrasound resource to sonographers and imaging managers and the PS Quality Committee.

Requirements

  • AA Degree required
  • Accredited Sonography Program to pass the ARDMS required
  • Five years’ experience as a working sonographer required
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
  • Must have successfully passed and maintained registration with the ARDMS
  • Current CPR/BLS required
  • Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults
  • Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test

Nice To Haves

  • Medical office experience preferred
  • Understanding of the most common ultrasound examinations and procedures to be read by radiologist preferred
  • Experience with a variety of Ultrasound equipment preferred
  • Experience with the following computer applications is desired: Workday; Smartsheet; Imagecast; Isite; Viewpoint; Outlook; Microsoft Office Suite, Internet/Intranet, Webex

Responsibilities

  • Assists with onboarding new sites by participating in ultrasound training
  • Creates training materials for OLF’s and adoption of Inland protocols
  • Updates spreadsheet database with current information for all outside sites (sonographer contact information, etc.)
  • Collaborates with Ultrasound Director to create and revise ultrasound imaging protocols for approval by radiologist section leads
  • Protocols must align with ACR accreditation requirements
  • Creates example exams for each protocol
  • Updates Knowledge Base with current protocols and example exams
  • Creates recorded educational materials to explain protocols and distribute to all sonographers and Imaging Managers at outside sites
  • Receives imaging feedback from radiologists
  • Responds to radiologists with protocol corrections, as appropriate
  • Delivers feedback to the sonographer and Imaging Manager with added explanations, as appropriate
  • Complies with requests from outside Imaging Managers to evaluate ultrasound image quality
  • Arranges for Inland site visits from outside sonographers upon request, to observe and learn more about ultrasound protocols
  • Provides regular and individualized evaluation of sonographer scanning performance, with constructive feedback communicated. B-mode and Doppler image quality Scanning technique Accuracy of measurements Adherence to ultrasound protocols Appropriate investigation and documentation Accuracy and relevance of online form worksheet data and comments
  • Responds to questions and concerns from radiologists, outside Imaging Managers and sonographers in a timely fashion
  • Addresses quality complaints from the community (providers, patients, etc.) regarding imaging interpretation concerns should be directed to the Quality & Patient Safety Team
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality within the Inland Imaging companies and Inland’s customers.

  • Quarterly quality assurance meeting attendance is required for this position.
