About The Position

-Inspect product quality upon receiving, verifying condition, maturity, color, size, firmness, defects, decay, and temperature. -Ensure products meet customer and supplier specifications. -Monitor storage conditions, including temperature, humidity, and FIFO rotation. -Inspect product during processing operations (repack, sorting, and packing) to maintain quality standards. -Approve or reject product that does not meet quality requirements. -Document quality findings, shrink, rejections, and rework. -Report quality issues and deviations to supervisors, purchasing, or operations teams. -Verify compliance with Good Handling Practices (GHP) and employee hygiene standards. -Support internal and external audits (FDA, USDA, Primus, etc.). -Ensure product is in optimal condition prior to shipping and distribution. Daily Activities: -Visual and physical inspection of fruits and vegetables. -Use of thermometers, quality checklists, and inspection forms. -Review of pallets, cartons, labeling, and product condition. -Constant communication with warehouse, production, and supervisory staff. -Follow-up on held or rejected product.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of fresh produce (ripeness, shelf life, and common defects).
  • Understanding of food safety and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in cold environments.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.
  • Teamwork and effective communication.
