Position Overview: The Quality Control Underwriter performs daily in-depth file reviews on each quality control audit assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education/experience in mortgage underwriting.
  • 5+ years’ experience in underwriting mortgage loans.
  • Knowledge of agency and investor guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • DE, LAPP, and SAR preferred.
  • Experience with Encompass LOS system, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Prefunding QC loan audits on an assigned population of loans, ensuring quality and risk standards are maintained within the loan file.
  • Perform risk evaluations on mortgage loans.
  • Complete complex analysis on all types of loan products.
  • Conduct evaluations of underwriting decisions.
  • Effectively communicate findings and potential resolutions to responsible departments.
  • Document to management the concerns or discrepancies for needed corrective action.
  • Provide support and assistance to department when needed.
