About The Position

Oversees quality processes and activities throughout the plant. Employs six sigma philosophy in optimizing manufacturing processes and procedures and develops continuous improvement culture throughout the company.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Five to seven years’ experience and/or training in a quality manufacturing setting
  • Proven ability and experience in creating and training understandable written instructions.
  • Familiar with six sigma, continuous improvement, and/or ISO quality systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, engineering, and management groups.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and consistently perform to meet specific deadlines.
  • Confident, self-driven, dynamic, and eager to learn
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills and require minimal supervision.
  • Team player

  • Prefer degree in related quality or technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees incoming quality; works with purchasing and vendors to assure incoming quality parts
  • Oversees first piece and in process quality inspecting
  • Reviews incoming and in process inspection results from plant for trends and issues
  • Oversee nonconformance process and conducts/directs root cause analysis and corrective action processes
  • Works with Operations Support, Plant Operations and Engineering to determine disposition and timing for vendor and/or internal defective parts
  • Conducts periodic quality audits based on issues in plant and non-conformance log data
  • Develop and/or assist in the creation of, implementation of and maintenance of SOP’s and work instructions for all production and quality processes
  • Work with plant and engineering to review, modify, develop appropriate form, fit, function criteria for both manufactured and purchased parts
  • Approve product made from new or revised fixtures, equipment and/or processes and release those items to be used by manufacturing
  • Oversee, help develop, and implement initial and ongoing training and certification programs for plant personnel
  • Oversee continuous improvement, six sigma, and overall quality culture
  • Establish effective professional relationships with employees, customers, vendors and managers
  • Plans and implements programs to train employees in quality practices for working in their respective areas.
  • Participates in initial training and assessment for new employees
  • Helps develop tools, gauges, and/or measuring devices to assess product quality
  • Embrace the EOS process and integrate into all activities
  • Understand the roles of company leadership and AutoGate team members, system resources and processes both intra and inter department positions and duties.
  • Utilize the most effective form of communication with employees, managers, co-workers, clients, and vendors
  • Understand that daily tasks through long term company vision are interwoven in the AutoGate EOS. Prioritize and re-prioritize tasks in a dynamic fluid environment.
  • Display a willingness to make decision, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, support and explain the reasoning and measure in your decision-making process
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines
  • Other duties may be assigned
