About The Position

Test and inspect product to ensure quality and functionality of manufacturing goods meets customer requirements. Assist the team by utilizing customer requirements resulting in delivery of products and systems that satisfies customer needs.

Requirements

  • Good communications skills both written and verbal and ability to keep good records required.
  • Knowledge of sampling plans, strong attention to detail, ability to read and interpret blueprints, use measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauge, torque wrench, etc.) is required.
  • Computer experience required: Email, Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and basic mathematical aptitude and manufacturing experience is required.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for verification of first piece and last piece parts using check fixtures. Document audit results on log sheet. Ensure any NG conditions are approved by the Team (MFG, Tooling, Maintenance, where applicable). As time permits, perform in-process inspections of product in between first and last piece. This includes inspection of trouble process parts.
  • When suspect nonconforming material is found internally, the Technician will communicate the issue to QC Team Leader on shift.  Team Leader on shift will complete the Quality Alert, sort / rework instruction, and cert tags. Team Leader prints the Quality Alert and tags suspect product then works with NCM forklift driver to move the product to the NCM Area.  In the event that Team Leader is not available or on shift at the time of the suspect material being found, the Technician will complete this activity themselves.  For external customer issues, this same process is followed to establish clean point per certification requirements.
  • Completes Quality End of Shift Report for Group Leader in the event GL or TL is not on shift. Directly responsible for performance of assigned work area.
  • Completes Countermeasure Verification Audits for processes that have active CM's.
  • Completes email communication of quality status as necessary.
  • For Supplier issues - notifies Supplier Quality Specialist and assists where needed to get clean point.
  • Completes various functional tests and inspections as required by customer drawings (pushout, torque, chamfer inspection, grease amount check, etc).  Documents results on quality record.
  • Ensure overall adherence to the quality system including the nonconformance area, quality reports, and data control.
  • Responds to Abnormal Condition calls from process leaders to ensure suspect material is contained and restart of process is validated.
  • Conducts Product Audits per IATF requirements as required by documented schedule.
  • Performs continuous improvement activities or other tasks requested by the Quality Leaders / Management.
  • Ensure 4S of Quality Lab workspace meets requirements at the end of responsible shift.
  • Understand all company policies and procedures.
  • Be proactive and reactive to resolve abnormalities in the process.
  • Use key performance indicators as a method of continuous improvement.
  • Work in a team environment on safety, quality, productivity and cost improvement projects.
  • Use Kaizen in work areas for the opportunity to make the area or line efficient.
  • Focus on employee relations centered on trust and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate a personality that works in cooperation with other team members toward building a sense of company teamwork.
  • Work on continually improving skills as outlined during performance review.
  • Attend all required training as outlined on training matrix.
