About The Position

Huntsman is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support the Advanced Materials Division in Ashtabula, Ohio. This role reports to the Quality Manager and involves performing routine laboratory Quality Control functions, including wet chemical, physical, instrumental, and statistical analysis. Key responsibilities also include data entry, housekeeping, waste management, inventory management, equipment repair and maintenance, and reporting to production. The technician must adhere to safe laboratory practices, the Chemical Hygiene Plan, and Chemical Plant requirements and regulations, supporting the Zero Harm initiative. Maintaining a working knowledge of testing procedures, protocols, and production area priorities is essential.

Requirements

• Associate degree in applied science or 3+ years laboratory experience
• Working laboratory knowledge
• Attention to detail and good dexterity/hand-eye coordination
• Intermediate math skills
• Critical thinking
• PC literacy including Microsoft Suite, SAP, and OpenLab
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be a self-starter with a “can-do attitude” that can work independently with minimal supervision
• Must have a high degree of safety awareness in job approach and willingness to wear proper protective equipment as needed

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory Quality Control functions, including but not limited to wet chemical, physical, instrumental analysis, and statistical analysis.
• Perform data entry, housekeeping, waste management, inventory levels, equipment repair and maintenance, and reporting to production.
• Conform to safe laboratory practices in accordance with Chemical Hygiene Plan and Chemical Plant requirements, and regulations as well as supporting the Zero Harm initiative.
• Maintain working knowledge of testing procedures, protocols, and priorities for production areas.
• Other duties as required.
