About The Position

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Inspect welded products for compliance with specifications and standards Report and address any defects or non-conformities. Perform inspection functions to ensure fabrication adheres to design specifications, Evaluate and complete QA hold points per drawing and code specifications. Review and process quality signoffs of fabrication travelers. Perform nondestructive testing as required by applicable code Compare physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards. Evaluate quality of materials or products. Mark products, workpieces, or equipment with identifying information. Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications. Notify others of equipment repair or maintenance needs. Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or Inspection requirements. Record operational or production data. Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences. Conduct receiving inspection for welded materials verifying compliance to applicable specifications and standards. Responsibilities/Duties: Testing Inspect, test, or measure materials for conformance to specifications. Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers. Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing requirements Mark items with details such as grade or acceptance-rejection status. Notify supervisors or other personnel of production and quality related issues. Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications. Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs. Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results. Quality Control Perform visual inspections of finished products. Complete documentation needed to support inspection procedures including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms. Calibrate, validate, or maintain equipment. Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions. Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions. Receive and inspect raw materials. Investigate or report questionable test results. Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained. Identify quality problems and recommend solutions. Monitor inspection procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols. Education, Work Experience, Skill Requirements & Certifications: Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required: Must have weld inspection related experience. Must have a general understanding of GTAW and GMAW welding processes and related defects. Previous NDE certifications preferred. High School Graduate or GED equivalent/Some college preferred. Skills Required: Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented. Ability to handle several projects simultaneously, prioritize work and handle last minute demands appropriately. Proven success with working in a team environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without constant supervision. Good communication, written and grammatical skills. Customer service oriented.
