Quality Control Technician Northbrook, IL / On-Site Rate of Pay: Starting at $21.00/hr 1st Shift Position Overview: The Quality Control Technician reports to the Production Manager/Supervisor. The Quality Control Technician conducts all necessary testing analysis to ensure specifications are met prior to product release by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and quality control software.
  • Demonstrates versatility and ability to maintain multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational skills in providing sample analysis.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Walk and climb stairs.
  • Use hands to remove or lift boxes; Stretch and reach with arms extended; Stoop and bend.
  • Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Temperature, dust, smell and noise are under normal chemical environment conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs required sample analysis, collection, prepping, assembly.
  • Completes data entry of test results and maintain records.
  • Respond to quality questions from customers and handle quality issues from supervisors and operators.
  • Operates laboratory equipment; both manual and automatic.
  • Processes incoming samples and assists in processing outgoing samples.
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designated person.
