The Quality Control Technician I performs tasks from detailed instructions and established procedures. Comply with site SXPs, corporate policies, and Environmental Health and Safety requirements. Applies technical skills and strong work habits to complete assigned work within own group/project team. A self-motivated, detail-oriented person who is able to make decisions and solve problems is essential. Able to work independently with little supervision, and flexible to also assist team members as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent with zero (0) years of experience
  • Mathematical and scientific reasoning ability and ability to learn and retain technical information
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with internal customers, team members, and management
  • Strategy is focused on personal time management and efficiency
  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift, pull or push 0-40 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Physically receive and count, sort, label, and organize samples by lot/condition/sample orientation for the purposes of stability study setups and/or pulls
  • Communicate effectively with internal (project management, operations, and laboratory personnel) and external customers to facilitate efficient sample flow
  • Assist with sample set downs, staging, pulling and sample movements.
  • May obtain DEA clearance and participate in controlled substance inventory verification
  • Perform labware cleaning, including but not limited to physical receipt, organization, loading and unloading glassware washers, and inspection of labware (chips or cracks)
  • May order and receive compressed gas cylinders required for the labs. May monitor cylinder inventory and verify accuracy of order upon delivery
  • Maintain high quality documentation in accordance with applicable regulatory guidance and site SOPs documenting work as appropriate within notebooks, forms, etc.
  • Execute procedures or methods with high quality and review own work to ensure accuracy and completeness and able to identify minor quality/compliance gaps during routine work
