We are searching for the best talent for a Quality Control Technician II. The Quality System Technician II is responsible for ensuring orthopedic medical devices and components meet stringent quality, safety, and performance standards. This role performs detailed technical inspections, supports regulatory compliance, and works closely with engineering and manufacturing teams in a highly regulated environment.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience - 3-5 years of mechanical inspection experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (medical devices, aerospace, or equivalent)
  • Strong proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection software
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering documentation
  • Strong mathematical skills, including algebra and geometry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database/ERP systems
  • Detail oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must meet vision requirements, including color vision and depth perception, to accurately identify defects

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate’s degree in an Engineering or technical field is preferred.
  • Troubleshooting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished medical devices.
  • Read, interpret, and apply complex engineering drawings and technical specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Utilize high-precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, optical comparators, and related measurement software.
  • Operate and support automated inspection systems including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), Sylvac Scan systems, and digital optical comparators.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, generate First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, and ensure compliance with FDA and other applicable medical device regulations.
  • Manage product movement and inspection status within ERP systems such as BtB and SAP.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming material, initiate Material Rejection Notices (MRNs), and collaborate with engineering and quality teams on root cause investigations and corrective actions.
