About The Position

Leads Quality Control operations and drives excellence in inspection processes to produce critical components for medical devices. Requires deep expertise, technical leadership, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Quality Inspection, manufacturing technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Quality Inspection within the medical device industry.
  • Expertise in automated inspection, programming and setup for vision systems and/or CMM.
  • Extensive knowledge of and proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop inspection teams.
  • Excellent communication skills (including written) and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a track record of driving innovation and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee Quality Inspection operations, including automated inspection programming, setup, and operation of inspection equipment.
  • Able to collaborate with engineering, design teams, and programmers to interpret technical drawings, models, and specifications for inspection.
  • Implement best practices in inspection and certification processes; and provide feedback to engineering for improvements in inspection protocols.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and supervise other inspectors, providing technical guidance and training on inspection techniques.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve inspection issues (including those driven by complaints / escapes) and prevent recurrence.
  • Works with customers to resolve and prevent documentation complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols applicable to medical device manufacturing.
  • Manages WIP according to daily shop schedule and production priorities.
  • Reports Quality Control KPIs and monitors team performance to identify opportunities for improvement upon departmental performance
  • Initiates and/or confirms MRBs and NCRs related to QC rejections
