About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to inspect vehicles throughout and after the repair process to ensure all work meets manufacturer, industry, and safety standards before customer delivery. The goal is to ensure the vehicle is returned to its pre-accident condition, both structurally and cosmetically.

Requirements

  • Understanding of auto body repair, including structural, mechanical, and cosmetic work, along with knowledge of automotive technology and repair processes.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (CCC One, Mitchell), diagnostic tools, and basic office software (MS Word, Excel).
  • Valid driver’s license without restrictions that affect your ability to operate company owned vehicle(s) and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
  • High School Education or GED equivalent.
  • Mechanical knowledge and ability to use various hand and power tools effectively
  • Good interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to identify and achieve targeted goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to understand verbal and written instructions and warning labels.
  • Ability to work well with a range of individuals
  • Ability to prioritize multiple jobs and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to clearly communicate with customers and coworkers alike to ensure an excellent customer experience
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
  • Ability to effectively respond to inbound and outbound phone calls
  • Strong attention to detail, professional demeanor, and a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., and frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs., and the employee is occasionally required to lift in excess of 100 lbs. with proper assistance.
  • Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol urinalysis and be able to drive a vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • I-CAR Platinum or ASE certifications is preferred.
  • Completion of or enrollment in a technical program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed visual and mechanical inspections at various repair stages (pre-, in-process, and final). Document all findings, including damage, completed repairs, and non-conformities, using digital tools and reports.
  • Verify that all repairs and sublet work adhere to the repair plan, manufacturer (OEM) specifications, and industry standards (e.g., I-CAR, ASE, ISO).
  • Conduct comprehensive quality control audits, which may include checking paint quality, panel gaps, weld integrity, fluid levels, and alignment.
  • Ensure pre, in-process and post-repair diagnostic scans have been done to ensure all vehicle electronic systems and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are functioning correctly and calibrated.
  • Immediately identify and address any quality issues, defects, or production delays. Collaborate with estimators, technicians, and management to find and implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct various tests, such as road tests and performance evaluations, to ensure proper handling and functionality.
  • Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including proper disposal of hazardous waste and use of safety equipment.
  • Maintain open and clear communication with the repair team regarding repair status, changes in scope, and quality issues.
  • Participate in developing quality control processes, training programs, and checklists to improve overall shop efficiency and repair outcomes.
