About The Position

This position is Contingent Upon Contract Award. The Flight School Next (FSN) Quality Control (QC) Inspector ensures that an aircraft, its components, and all maintenance work comply with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), the company’s Quality Control Manual (QCM), and manufacturer’s instructions. This role is onsite at Fort Rucker, Alabama and is critical to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) and Inspection Authority (IA) certification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of aircraft maintenance and inspection experience.
  • Strong knowledge of FARs, QCM, and manufacturer maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and enforce compliance standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance as required by the contract (Public Trust or Secret level, as applicable).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and inspection skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in confined spaces.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with rotary-wing aircraft.
  • Prior work in a military or government aviation environment.
  • ISO9001:2015 familiarization.
  • OEM-specific maintenance training (preferred).
  • OSHA safety training (preferred).
  • Hazmat handling and shipping awareness (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on aircraft and components.
  • Audit work packages and maintenance records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide feedback to the Quality Supervisor on procedural or process improvements.
  • Identify non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Issue the Return to Service (RTS) authorization to certify the article is airworthy.
