About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector 2 is responsible for assisting with the Environmental Monitoring program in the Scharffenberger/Ashland facility. Duties include the accurate labeling of environmental samples, accurate completion of outside lab sample submission forms, collection of environmental samples, shipping and receiving samples and other materials, data management and communication, documentation of corrective actions, providing technical and investigative assistance to production department staff, and assistance with other quality control projects as they arise.

Requirements

  • Strong reading comprehension skills with the ability to understand labels, procedures, and written reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with all levels of management.
  • Proficiency with personal computer applications—including Excel, Access, Outlook, and Word—is required.
  • Solid basic math skills, including percentages, fractions, and decimals.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, critical thinking, and investigative skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to overlapping priorities, interruptions, and changing demands
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6months+ quality control experience preferred
  • Must have Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
  • Demonstrated comprehension skills are required in order to understand general label requirements, lot code formats, procedures, diagrams, flow charts and written specifications.
  • Able to work in demanding circumstances (crowded conditions, cold storage (-10° to 40°) for entire shift (8-10 hours).
  • Walking and standing for entire shift (8-10 hours)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to work on the floor—kneeling, reaching for sample sites, crouching, and occasionally crawling under equipment.
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs continuously/ up to 50 lbs occasionally

  • This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to initial and ongoing drug testing.

  • Previous Quality Control experience is preferred.
