About The Position

We are Hydro, Inc., a global, privately held pump reengineering facility that has been in business Since 1969 and we are continually growing. We are currently looking for a seasoned QC inspector to work in a controlled work environment in our nuclear business. The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years previous, continual inspection experience or worked in a position as a QC Inspector.
Must be knowledgeable with using large, precision measuring tools.
Must have good computer skills, familiar with MS Office suite.
Knowledgeable about the requirements of a formal safety program: OSHA, ISO, etc.
Previously worked in an industrial fabricating machine shop with large, moving parts and rotating equipment.
Ability to multi-task in order to service the customer.
Detailed, organized approach to your work.
Must have excellent written and verbal and communication skills.
Demonstrate ability to work and interact well with all shop personnel.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to Commute: Chicago, IL 60607 (Required)

Nice To Haves

Candidates experienced in rotating equipment, pumps or heavy machining industry strongly considered.

Responsibilities

Dimensional inspection of parts using precise measuring instruments such as: outside micrometers, gauges, calipers, inside micrometers.
Inspect incoming pump parts, take OD diameter and ID diameter
Compile inspection reports
Identify defects and worn out components in parts.
Develop detailed reports for incoming, in process and final inspection.
Know how to calibrate measuring tools for machine shop and inspection reports.
Willing to go to customer site to process incoming inspections, if needed.
