About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector position ensures that all inspection activities are accomplished in the most efficient manner and in accordance with approved company manuals, procedures, and policies to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate and appropriate authorizations required for RII Inspection and Airworthiness Release.
  • Have at least two years of maintenance experience on company-operated aircraft or related experience on transport category aircraft with one year as a certificated mechanic.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license and passport.
  • Fluent in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Know the appropriate parts of the company Maintenance Program including Policies and Procedures, as well as applicable CFRs.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA. Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities regularly.

Nice To Haves

  • ERJ 135/145 Experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Quality Control Department in developing and revising new and existing Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring preventive maintenance, repairs, and alterations are performed in accordance with approved in-use documentation during all maintenance, not just during the RII process.
  • Ensure correct documentation and processing of received parts including the CURE program.
  • Identify Company and Manufacturers manual deficiencies for management review and act as a liaison on behalf of the Company on issues dealing with Original Equipment
  • Manufacturers, Engineering Groups, Maintenance Providers and other relevant external entities.
  • Plan for shift workload (coordinating with Base Manager/Supervisor.
  • Review paperwork throughout the entire shift, identifying errors as soon as they are discovered, and making sure the
  • Technician understands the error and the proper entry/sign-off.
  • Review completed paperwork packages to ensure all shift paperwork is error-free and meet regulatory and CommuteAir requirements.
  • Know and comply with policies & procedures detailed in the approved RII list.
  • Verify the in-calibration date and monitor proper use and handling of calibrated tooling during maintenance.
  • Carry out continuous maintenance oversight and Inspection tasks throughout the shift.
  • Inspect aircraft during maintenance and create maintenance write-ups, as required, to correct noted discrepancies.
  • Perform component and tool receiving processing
  • Ensuring repairs and alterations are performed in accordance with approved documentation during the receiving process.
  • Ensure proper utilization and implementation of the CURE program.
  • Assist the Quality Control Manager & Director of Stores and Purchasing in the supervision and training of Materials and Inspection personnel as necessary.
  • Acting as a liaison on behalf of the Company on issues dealing with Original Equipment Manufacturers, Engineering Groups, Maintenance Providers and other relevant external entities.
  • Perform periodic inspections of the shelf life components ensuring proper implementation of the Company shelf life program.
  • Perform receiving surveillance of new or repaired aircraft parts and materials including the generation of required identification paperwork.
  • Regular attendance is essential for all positions at CommuteAir.
  • Other duties as assigned.
