About The Position

We are looking for a quality professional who can think critically, operate independently, and help strengthen how work is actually performed, not just how it’s documented. The Quality Control and Compliance Specialist ensures that products and processes meet customer requirements, internal standards, and quality system expectations. This role serves as the primary Quality presence on the production floor, performing final inspections, supporting in-process quality activities, and identifying risks or gaps in execution. This position bridges the gap between the quality system and day-to-day operations, translating real-world production conditions into actionable feedback and continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strong judgment, problem-solving ability, and comfort working in a high-mix, custom manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with exposure to quality, inspection, or related processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, including drawings, bills of material, and work instructions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate issues in terms of processes and systems rather than individual performance.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment with varying levels of ambiguity.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience in panel building, electrical assembly, cable assembly, or similar environments.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and ISO 9001 principles.
  • Experience supporting root cause analysis, audits, or customer inspections (e.g., FATs).

Responsibilities

  • Perform final inspection of complex panel assemblies to verify conformance to customer requirements, drawings, and internal workmanship standards.
  • Support and oversee inspection activities across production, including in-process inspections and custom material verification.
  • Monitor production activities and provide real-time guidance to ensure compliance with defined methods, documentation, and quality standards.
  • Identify and escalate quality concerns, discrepancies, or unclear/conflicting requirements; participate in cross-functional resolution with Production, Engineering, and Project Management.
  • Conduct targeted, risk-based audits of production, inspection practices, and documentation usage to ensure alignment with internal procedures and ISO 9001 expectations.
  • Support corrective actions by providing insight from the production floor and helping address both formal and informal quality issues.
  • Identify recurring issues and trends, and provide feedback to improve processes, documentation, and training.
  • Perform targeted reviews of job release packages to verify critical elements (e.g., drawings, bills of material, documentation) are complete and consistent.
  • Support customer-facing quality activities, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and interface with customers as needed.
