About The Position

Ensures that the New Century facility achieves and maintains daily audit readiness through the management of all food safety programs (HACCP, SQF, FSMA Preventative Controls). Lead all external audits for compliance for the facility: including FDA, KDA, SQF as well as customer audits. Assists with the implementation, rollout, and ongoing audit of company processes and procedures for compliance with SQF and FDA regulations and requirements. Provides coordination, direction and administration for the Company’s internal audits. Leverages cross-functional partnerships to identify, develop strategy, and design and build processes to ensure and enhance internal controls. Builds and maintains working relationships with management, peers and audit team. Maintains independence and objectivity.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills.
  • Able to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work for long periods of time, under pressure, to produce results.
  • Ability to operate a computer in a Windows-based environment and most office equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Results oriented.
  • Demonstrate ambiguity to change
  • Must be able to see/distinguish color.
  • No severe food allergies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all external audits for compliance for the facility: including FDA, KDA, SQF as well as customer audits.
  • Contacts suppliers to obtain up to date raw material information.
  • Keep Master Document Control books updated.
  • Randomly review facility records to ensure compliance with food safety programs.
  • Review CCP monitoring activities.
  • Assist in training of food safety programs.
  • Participating in all 3rd party audits and verifying effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Perform investigation of customer complaints and ensure that conclusions and corrective action (if needed) are communicated with the customer in a timely manner.
  • Assist in determining product releases and/or QA Holds. Includes collecting samples, additional information, and discussing disposition with QA Manager. Additional follow up with relevant depts., and updating paperwork as well.
  • Issuing and following up on Non-Conformances and effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Performing monthly cGMP internal audits and daily walk through.
