About The Position

Kiewit Building Group is looking for Quality Construction Manager that will be responsible for successful development and implementation of the Project Quality Plan and procedures. You are responsible for managing and educating project personnel to ensure standards outlined in the Project Quality Plan are met. Responsible for the successful implementation of field quality inspection and testing plans, procedures and documentation. Kiewit Building Group specializes in constructing office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, science and technology facilities, manufacturing, retail, and special-use facilities. Contracting models include firm fixed price, RSMeans based Coefficients, CMGC, design-build, progressive design build, and IPD. This position will be based in the Kiewit Building Group office in Springfield, VA with local travel in the greater Washington DC area will be expected.

Requirements

Ability to travel and relocate as needed
At least 10 years' experience developing and implementing construction quality management programs in the Infrastructure industry
Certified Construction Quality Management (CQM) is required.
Experience working on NAVFAC, Army Corps of Engineers, or other Goverment construction projects is required.
Exceptional math, computer, verbal and written communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Regular, reliable attendance
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment

May work at various different locations and conditions may vary

Responsibilities

Promote and maintain effective communications and relations with district management, project management teams, authorized inspectors and engineer or client as required.
Recruit, hire, train, mentor and supervise district and project quality control inspectors.
Coordinate quality control staffing needs on projects and assign qualified personnel.
Work with other districts as needed to share resources.
Assist project teams in setting up the quality department and preparing for project kick-off and pre-job planning meetings. Assist in identifying the proper Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's), checklists, and other documentation for the project.
Support project teams in the development and implementation of project quality plans and supplemental procedures as needed.
Facilitate resolution of issues by working with Project Quality Managers and Project Managers.
Monitor and report district quality incident.
Oversee code compliance for work.
Liaison between authorized inspection agency and jurisdictional authorities. Assist in acquiring authorized inspection services to the projects.
Research and answer technical questions; assist in the interpretation of construction codes and standards.
