About The Position

AECOM is seeking an experienced On-site Construction Inspector to perform construction quality assurance services and support projects with the US Army Corps of Engineers on the EAA Reservoir Project in Wellington, FL. This is an onsite, full-time position working 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • HS + 10 Years of relevant experience in construction practices, procedures, and testing, to include three (3) years of quality control management of DoD construction projects.
  • Due to the nature of the project US citizenship is required
  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background checks. Projects/clients are security sensitive.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Up to 50% of the time the position needs to move about indoor and outdoor construction site environments with uneven terrain, variable environmental conditions including heat, dusts, noise, moisture, and dryness
  • Occasionally (10-25% of workday) performing repetitive bending/stooping, repetitive or fine hand movements, working at heights, and lifting and carrying equipment weighing less than 25 pounds
  • At times the position requires working with arms above shoulder level, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), climbing stairs, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection, working in confined spaces, and lifting greater than 25 pounds
  • The position requires wearing associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, and fall protection

Nice To Haves

  • Civil Engineering Degree and three (3) years of quality control management for DoD construction projects.
  • Certified completion of a professionally accredited Quality Control Management Course (e.g., conducted by the US Army Corps of Engineers or an independent private company) within the last five (5) years; Contractor’s self-developed programs will not fulfill this requirement.
  • Technical expertise to perform payment inspections and validation of progress against the AF IMT 3065 forms.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and experience using RMS.
  • Knowledge of the USACE Three Phase Inspection Process
  • Knowledge of EM 385-1 Safety Requirements
  • CQM Certification

Responsibilities

  • Inspection of Contractor’s Work. Provide inspection of work in place, and review of the construction contractor’s submittals, to provide an opinion or recommendation to the appropriate Government employee(s) as to whether work is in full compliance with the contract plans and specifications and will be included in the Daily Report of surveillance activities.
  • Inspection of Contractor’s On-Site Work, Materials, and Equipment > Provide inspection of the contractor’s on-site storage yards and temporary facilities, materials and equipment, to provide an opinion or recommendation to the appropriate Government employee(s) as to whether they are in full compliance with contract plans, specifications, EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements.
  • Site Progress Tracking: Review project schedule, check field progress against the contractor schedule and report to client any delays from the approved baseline. Provide site progress on schedule activities to PM, Project Controls Manager, and Scheduler for updates.
  • Technical expertise to perform payment inspections and validation of progress against AF IMT 3065 forms.
  • Attend preparatory meetings and participate in all three phases: Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up of the 3-Phase inspection system required under the contract.
