About The Position

In this position ... The role leads the strategy for North American vehicle shipping quality, aiming for "Best-in-World" damage-free delivery across rail, road, and ocean transport. You will manage the end-to-end claims process, focusing on the adjudication and collection of damages while reducing aged debt and improving financial recovery speeds. To modernize operations, you will implement advanced data analytics and digital inspection tools that provide real-time insights into quality trends and carrier performance. Operational responsibilities include conducting physical load tests, collaborating with plant teams to eliminate damage at the source, and managing the repair-to-delivery pipeline. Finally, you will represent the company in major industry organizations and lead high-level quality reviews with carrier partners to drive continuous logistics improvements.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent technical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lead cross-functional groups to resolve concerns
  • Strong written and oral communication skills: you will be speaking or presenting to Senior Ford Leadership
  • High level of analytical skills to trend Claims/Quality data and take appropriate actions

  • Basic Accounting skills
  • Proficiency in use of Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Understand the concept and principals surrounding Business Objects, SharePoint, Access, Alteryx, RPA programs

  • MP&L and/or Manufacturing Quality experience preferred
  • QLS and FreightVerify know-how preferred

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed NAVL Claims and Quality objectives by facilitating and influencing improvement in all areas of the Vehicle Shipping process
  • Responsible for the adjudication and collection of all vehicle damage claims
  • Upgrade the current claims charts and trend data using the latest in analytics to create an intuitive system allowing for ad hoc queries for NAVL and T-Force operations teams to identify and focus on problem areas in real-time
  • Lead day to day oversight and improve vehicle claims collections: reducing aged claims, reduce the number of uncollectable claims, and improve speed of recovery.
  • Improve Carhaul, Rail, and Ocean shipment quality to Best-in-World Damage-Free Shipping levels
  • Drive improvements in the In-transit Repair process to reduce the dwell time from Damage Identification to Repair to Final Delivery
  • Complete annual MCRP and evidence book for transportation damage claims area
  • Oversee monthly VASCOR account reconciliations and audits with Finance
  • Perform Vehicle Load Tests for Rail, Convoy, and other modes of transport to ensure quality loading capability
  • Lead NAVL/T-Force teams’ efforts, actions, and projects to reduce damage claims
  • Engage Plant Quality and Production teams to cut-off repetitive damage coming through the 400-gate
  • Lead and establish quality review meetings with various carrier/supplier partners; focus on high hurts based on the data.
  • Attend and provide leadership in multiple industry-wide organizations in the Vehicle Logistics and Damage Prevention arena; i.e., VEQ, AIAG, AHAA, MUAR, AAR DP&FCC, AAR Special Equip., etc.
  • Update Global and MP&L Scorecards, monthly
  • Lead & oversee the DeGould Dealer Inspection App with a focus on usage by final-destination and continuous enhancements with the system
  • Evolve vehicle inspection processes used at origin & destination
  • Lead damage prevention efforts & regular inspections, with a significant focus on origin loading and securement processes
  • Resolve issues arising related to vehicle delivery problems primarily surround dealer & carrier disputes
  • Disposition of non-saleable as new (NSAN) vehicles
