Requirements

  • B.S Degree in Chemistry, emphasis on Analytical Chemistry preferred (Associate’s in Science accepted with minimum of 4 years of relevant analytical chemistry experience)
  • IC, ICP Experience preferred
  • ACS – American Chemical Society recognized degree preferred
  • Operational knowledge of ISO 9001, FSSC 22000/GFSI, or ICHQ7 preferred
  • Working knowledge of SAP preferred

Responsibilities

  • ISO 9001 laboratory program
  • SDS and appropriate safety documentation for chemicals
  • Contact for FDA / USP / Certification Bodies / 3rd Party Laboratories
  • Backfill for Methods Chemist, and Quality Lead
  • Trains and develops Lab Analysts
  • Assists with customer, third party, and regulatory audits/inspections
  • Performs product review and release of food, feed, and API grade product
  • Trains analysts on new methods
  • Trouble shoot analytical results and equipment
  • Reviews log sheets for completion and quality of work
  • Maintains calibration records
  • Coordinates outside calibration services
  • Maintains laboratory master document library
  • Manages laboratory waste management
  • Supports ISO 9001, quality certifications, and FDA compliance efforts
  • Provides analytical and engineering support to the Tech. Dept.
  • Supports food, feed, API production.
  • Serves as a member of the Food Safety Team
  • Performs instrument preventative maintenance
  • Assists with site CAPA, Deviation, Internal Audit, Supplier Quality, Validation, and Document/Record Management programs
  • Reviews /approves management of change (MOC) requests for Quality.
  • Assists with customer inquiries and quality questionnaires
  • Assists with investigations and resolution of customer complaints
  • Identifies and follows through with quality improvement projects
  • Follows up on internal/external audit findings
  • Performs internal housekeeping audits
  • Performs third party lab qualification audits
  • Performs new hire orientation training
