About The Position

IT - SCDHHS - IT Healthcare Consultant - Quality Assurance - Advanced Job Title: Quality Assurance Tester Location: Columbia, SC Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Position Type: C2C/W2 Years of Experience:08+ years Duration of the Contract: 12 months Candidate Location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role at their own expense. Key Responsibilities: · Perform tests on technical solutions to identify, isolate, and resolve issues. · Initiate tests, analyze results, and provide solutions to technical problems. · Develop test plans, QA processes, and UAT test cases for product management and software development teams. · Design and support UI testing applications and regression testing software. · Test software applications for stability, performance, and reliability. · Implement test programs, including negative and usability testing. · Lead quality assessment projects to identify defects, security gaps, and optimization opportunities. · Design and execute automated testing scripts; support test deployment. · Create QA documentation and detailed reports as needed. · Follow established software testing governance policies and best practices; suggest improvements. · Maintain defect databases, user reviews, survey data, and functional enhancements. · Collaborate with product development teams and software engineers to improve performance and efficiency. · Conduct reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections per governance standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years translating business requirements or policy documents into test scenarios/cases.
  • 3+ years building test cases and scenarios into test systems.
  • 2+ years’ experience testing IBM Curam software.
  • Ability to document and support the creation of test scenarios/cases and execute test activities.
  • Strong communication skills to publish status reports, highlight issues/gaps, and clearly articulate findings to development teams.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years’ experience working with large enterprise or e-business systems.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations (preferably Medicaid) and related business processes.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools — JIRA, Confluence.
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies: Waterfall and Agile.
