The technician will conduct quality audits of production lines and review 'self-control' paperwork to ensure compliance with established quality standards. They will monitor the electronic weight and attribute system to ensure that products meet company weight and quality standards, and communicate any deviations to the appropriate departments for corrective action. Analytical testing of products and raw materials is a key responsibility, with tests including color, particle size, fat content, moisture content, viscosity, pH, and flavor, among others. The technician will also assess the quality of incoming materials and utilize the TraceGains tracking system to ensure compliance with Certificates of Analysis (COAs). In addition to testing and inspection, the technician will maintain proper calibration and verification of laboratory equipment, conduct environmental sampling, and audit operator paperwork for compliance with safety checks. They will participate in daily shift transition meetings, evaluate current testing protocols, and recommend improvements. The role also involves holding non-conforming materials for investigation and conducting product analysis to prevent large-scale quality issues. The technician will assist in training new staff and maintain the laboratory and work area according to 5S principles, ensuring a clean and organized environment. Good communication skills are essential for effectively conveying quality issues to operations staff and supervisors, and the technician will also be responsible for ordering lab supplies and completing special projects as needed.
