About The Position

Ensure that all products shipped to the customer meet the specified requirements for color and physical testing. Actively involved in ensuring product quality by performing product inspections on the shop floor, interfacing with Production personnel to promote quality awareness, improvements, and verifying corrective action is documented when required. Requirements

  • Experience with material testing and data analysis.
  • Must pass a color test.
  • Ability to perform the molding operation.
  • Ability to stand/walk up to 50% of the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on any particular day.
  • Ability to climb stairs multiple times on any particular day.

Nice To Haves

  • Color science knowledge preferred.
  • CQT accreditation through ASQ is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency, UC ERP system and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Associate degree, experience as a Quality Technician, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Color evaluation of production and development color for release or rejection based on specified color approval method and customer specific tolerance.
  • Preparation and Application of CofA packets (including color plaques) for all necessary shipments.
  • Perform Shipping Dock Audits when required.
  • Visual inspection of color plaque for release or rejection.
  • Perform product inspections in Production areas, documenting nonconformities found and confirming corrective action when complete.
  • Perform and document applicable required customer testing.
  • Manage RP2PP process flow and assure timely completion to meet customer needs.
  • Perform press out of material and inspection using microscope for investigation of contamination (specks).
  • Document results of color evaluation and physical testing in appropriate systems and software.
  • Compile customer required certification documentation for final product for shipment to customer.
  • Distribution of quality documentation via Fed Ex/UPS, mail, fax, or email as required.
  • Maintenance of UC color history folders including generating and filing folders, auditing file storage for accuracy, and archiving files when required.
  • Maintenance of concentrate retain storage and related records.
  • Management and completion of Off-Set Checking Resin IRA’s.
  • Coordination of communication on off-set to Sales and Internal departments.
  • Updating & Maintenance of color history (X-Rite/DataColor). Updating tolerances once approval of offset is received.
  • Locating and pulling material retains for off-set analysis and assist in MMA retain collection.
  • Actively involved in continuous improvement.
  • Problem solving and communication with appropriate departments to address color and quality issues.
  • Completion of projects as assigned by Quality Assurance Supervisor.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of work area.
  • Follow UC Quality System-approved work instructions and procedures and help improve these as needed.
  • Responsible for successful facilitation of all company safety policies and procedures.
