We are looking for a Lab Technician. You will conduct analytical testing to monitor control of processes and ensure final products meet specifications so our customers receive only the highest quality products. You must be detail oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, be safety conscious, and have strong time management skills.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in Quality Management and/or Quality Assurance
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to use respiratory protection including masks and respirators.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a Quality Assurance role in food production or agriculture
  • Prior experience in large-scale chemical or processing environments.
  • Experience with mobile equipment (forklift, electric pallet jack, aerial lift, etc.)
  • Experience with safety programs including Lock Out/Tag Out, confined space, line break, and chemical hazard communication/chemical hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all quality requirements for producing Ethanol/DDGs/WDGs/ICO.
  • Perform routine testing on inbound, in-process, and finished products in a timely manner.
  • Conduct testing and routine maintenance on water treatment systems and make operational adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Utilize lab equipment (HPLC, IC, GC, Cell Counter, IR, NIR, Titrators) and have the ability to troubleshoot instrument issues.
  • Perform additional testing as needed. Participate in training opportunities to further product safety and quality knowledge.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership team to identify and make final decisions on product quality challenges.
  • Adhere to feed safety and good manufacturing policies at all times.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area at all times.
  • Ability to work overtime or holidays if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
