About The Position

The Quality Assurance Technician monitors assigned areas to ensure that the processes are following proper guidelines and that the product at each step complies with SSI and Customer specifications. Communicate with Supervisors and other departments as needed Place product on hold as necessary based on defined guidelines Pull samples as required for cook evaluations Pull samples aseptically as required for microbiological testing Packages samples for shipments to labs and customers. Evaluates finished products, raw materials, and other ingredients Participate in the daily pre-operational inspection process as needed Data Recording as needed

Requirements

  • Able to compute basic mathematical functions (i.e. averages, percentages and formulas)
  • With training, able to operate and or test specified equipment (i.e. FOSS fat analysis, and Xray fat monitoring system)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with Quality Assurance and Production
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products and using a computer keyboard
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English
  • High School diploma preferred
  • Two years of food processing or similar experience required
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach product and inspect equipment
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines (for pre-operational duties)
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
  • Work in refrigerated rooms (35 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit)
