About The Position
QA Lab Tech is responsible for ensuring all production runs adhere to the company's food safety and quality standards. This includes microbiological, physical and chemical analyses of samples, retesting and communication of non-conforming products, and testing product and mixes to ensure they meet desired specifications. The role also involves calibration and documentation of laboratory equipment and plant-wide thermometers, performing allergen testing on rinse water and finished product at start-up on all production cycles of dissimilar allergens, and acceptance and rejection of raw materials and packaging. Communication to the Lab Manager of non-conforming raw materials and finished products is essential. Additional responsibilities include sample preparation and titration, brix testing for products, daily water and air testing, restocking, inventory management, and data entry for the QA Database and various testing logs. The QA Lab Tech must verify and approve the proper conformance and usage of rework and participate in a safe, food-safe, and respectful work environment by following company policies, processes, and SOPs while proactively communicating concerns or ideas.
