About The Position

SUMMARY Provide oversight support to external and internal audits for safety and non-safety software efforts. Perform as a qualified auditor in Quality Assurance Division (QAD) independent audits, or surveillances. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Office of River Protection ( ORP) in its efforts to manage and oversee the projects in accordance with Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Hanford procedures, and the ORP Quality Assurance Program Description in respect to software. Provide quality-related oversight functions to Federal Project Directors in their efforts to address performance issues and verify completion of facility milestones for software activities. Perform as an oversight team lead. Conduct reviews of contractor actions and the effectiveness of actions taken to address DOE Inspector General (OIG) recommendations for software issues. Review and comment on new and revised QAD procedures and oversight reports to ensure the documents are of high technical quality. Review causal analysis and actions taken to prevent the recurrence of software conditions adverse to quality. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, technology, or business management.
  • Nine (9) years of directly applicable successful experience as a management consultant or senior manager interfacing and working with organizational executives and senior management, or senior technical or business individuals, within government or industry on significant management, technical, or business issues.
  • Minimum of ten ( 10 ) years of experience in software quality assurance program implementation and oversight.
  • Highly experienced in Safety Quality Assurance (SQA) requirements as codified in Government Agencies Regulations and Orders, to ensure safety and non-safety software engineering processes and methods meet established quality standards.
  • Highly experienced in safety and non-safety software QA programs implementation.
  • Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience or ability to perform under Hanford or other government agency procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience with software quality assurance orders, guidance, consensus standards, and common industry practices.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
  • Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy.

  • Working level knowledge of DOE Hanford processes and procedures.
  • Working level knowledge of DOE’s program management practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Working level knowledge of Hanford’s Quality Assurance programs.
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn/use other technology management tools employed at Hanford.
  • Excellent communication, responsiveness, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, with excellent knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills .
