About The Position

This position serves as Risk Manager for Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center. The position operates within the Standards Department and focuses on the assessment of organization risks and the implementation of strategies to mitigate the risk. The position assists with implementation and monitoring of the facility’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Plan. The position works with the Executive Team, Department Managers and Supervisors to investigate adverse events and implement corrective actions. The position performs Root Cause Analysis as needed and develops action plans. The Risk Manager analyzes data from various sources including: event reports, chart reviews, quality rounds, safety inspections and employee injury logs to identify trends and develop risk reduction strategies. The position assists with the development and implementation of policies and systems to enhance resident, employee and visitor safety. Duties include assisting the Center Director and Director of Standards Management with compiling information and preparing responses for internal and external complaints and requests for information from DHHS, DSOHF and external agencies/individuals. Performing audits of organizational processes and conducting risk assessments are functions of the position. The position performs duties which are part of the PSES and PSO framework. Key functions of the position are to reduce adverse events, to identify event trends and to develop and implement strategies to reduce risk.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and ability to interpret quality standards, policies and procedures based on all applicable state/federal regulations, statues and DHHS Departmental procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement a continuous quality improvement process with multi-disciplinary groups.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to use a computer; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of QA principles, experience with data analysis and use of QA tools
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, education, health, business administration or related human service field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in professional level treatment programming for the applicable client population; or Bachelor's degree in one of the fields listed above from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience as indicated above; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
