This role is an in-person role- Monday thru Friday 9am- 5:30pm; hybrid eligible after 90 days from start date. The Quality Assurance Specialist I is an entry-level position responsible for performing reviews and audits of loan files, member documentation, and internal records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Credit Union policies and applicable federal/state regulations. This role supports risk mitigation efforts by identifying discrepancies, tracking documentation, and assisting with internal quality control processes. Works under close supervision and escalates complex issues as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Coursework in business, finance, or compliance preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of credit union operations and services.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for financial documentation.
  • Awareness of data privacy and risk compliance principles.
  • 1-2 years of experience in financial services, clerical support, or document review.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Accurate data entry and basic document auditing.
  • Ability to use core banking or loan origination systems with training.
  • Familiar with general office equipment (scanner, phone, calculator).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a credit union or banking environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts post-close loan file reviews for consumer loans (e.g., auto loans, share secured, signature, VISA).
  • Reviews member account documentation for completeness and compliance.
  • Performs basic file audits including: Demographic/account changes Dormant account activity Share dividend adjustments Basic high-risk transaction flags Exception and error reports
  • Prepares and maintains quality assurance documentation and reports.
  • Supports the investigation of errors or discrepancies in documentation or data entry.
  • Provides internal support to staff on routine quality assurance issues.
  • Maintains confidentiality and complies with BSA/OFAC/Patriot Act regulations.
