About The Position

Develop and sustain the Quality Management System to the required industry standards (including: ISO14001:2015 / ISO 9001:2015), accreditation requirements and business requirements across the organization through existing and new procedures/processes. Train hourly and salaried personnel on new processes and procedures. Regulate, control and improve the quality of all processes throughout the business and the final product. Lead the team to achieve quality management system targets for customers and business goals.

Requirements

  • BS degree (Engineering or Science Degree preferred)
  • 5 plus years of experience in a manufacturing/quality leadership role including a laboratory environment
  • Thorough understanding of ISO Quality and Environmental Management Systems
  • Ability to read and/or interpret drawings/blueprints
  • Lead auditor experience
  • Knowledge of tool/fixture design and process improvement techniques
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with management, peers, subordinates, and customers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with management, suppliers, and customers (internal and external) and other third parties.
  • Analytical, problem resolution and decision skills
  • Experience in managing a laboratory to include testing, trend analysis, laboratory report responsibility, and operation of lab equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer experience in maintaining and auditing for ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 program
  • Environmental management, Safety and Recycling experience (preferred)
  • Six Sigma certification (Black or Green preferred)
  • Lean manufacturing (preferred)
  • Certificate in RCRA and DOT training course (preferred)
  • Certificate in Auditing experience in ISO 9001 and/or 14001 (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and manages all aspects of the Quality, Environmental and Safety Management Systems. This includes environmental aspects, operational controls, risk matrices, life cycle perspectives, no exposure stormwater permit, textile permit, Onsite Implementation Log (DHEC), new hire safety training, annual OSHA refresher trainings, and legal compliance calendar to ensure all legal, environmental, and quality requirements are met.
  • Responsible for Internal and External audit planning and management. Ensure that all nonconformities raised during audits are effectively corrected and verified. Conduct yearly audits for other Nederman companies and assist with or conduct supplier audits as needed.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of quality, manufacturing & safety policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance, also train personnel on these policies and procedures.
  • Investigate Customer complaints and track warranty resolutions for customers. Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations of customer complaints.
  • Conduct and oversee daily shop floor first article and subsequent inspections to include drawing review, cut size review, adherence to specifications, fit, and function for production orders. Determine and document when engineering change requests for drawings or specifications are needed. Collaborate with Technical and Sales on decisions involving customer applications.
  • Serve as raw material consultant for customer fabric identifications. Responsible for all raw material specifications and Safety Data Sheets.
  • Collect data for energy consumption, quality cost, and recycling metrics and chart results monthly for local and corporate. Coordinate all company metrics for corporate monthly. Prepare quarterly presentations to corporate including action plans for metrics not meeting goals.
  • Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies. Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from Quality concerns.
  • Train and manage responsibilities of Quality Technician to allow for continued growth and increased efficiency in the Quality department.
  • Maintain and manage Quality First program, calibration of lab and production equipment, raw material and finished product inspection and disposition, new product authorization process, vendor compliance, raw material conformance, corrective action issuance and resolution, customer complaints, and other Quality processes. Proactively initiate actions to reduce inefficiencies and warranty costs and improve capabilities and capacity of operations.
  • Responsible for maintaining and managing Hazardous Communication Program to include training for Chemical spills, Global Harmonization Program, and Universal Waste. Manages and updates Emergency Response Team responsibilities and the Menardi Filters Emergency Response Plan. Understands RCRA and DOT Hazardous Material Regulations to maintain compliance with federal and state agencies and attends training as needed. Coordinate, documents, and manages all aspects of hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage, management, and disposal.
