About The Position

JE Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and continuously improve the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) while championing a Zero Defects culture across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier networks. This role serves as the ISO 9001 Management Representative, ensures product quality and compliance throughout all phases of fabrication and manufacturing, and strengthens customer confidence in JE Technology’s aircraft maintenance safety platforms and related metal fabrication products. The Quality Assurance Manager provides strategic and hands-on leadership to the Quality Department and partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and customers to drive operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Quality, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 (auditor and/or auditee experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience leading audits, closing findings, and implementing robust corrective actions.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments involving metal fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Proven ability to define quality metrics, analyze trends, and drive measurable improvement.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and influence skills (with and without authority).
  • Experience developing procedures, processes, and training programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; MS Project a plus).
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 20%, domestic and occasional international.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Aerospace, aviation support equipment, or regulated manufacturing experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement training.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Management System (QMS) Leadership
  • Own, maintain, and continuously improve the company’s ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management System.
  • Serve as the Management Representative to certification bodies, customers, and auditors.
  • Administer document control and change management processes, including oversight of the QMS SharePoint site.
  • Lead integration of acquired organizations or new programs into the existing QMS.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Audit, Compliance & Corrective Action
  • Plan and execute internal, supplier, and customer audits.
  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and verify effectiveness and closure.
  • Review contract deliverables, customer submissions, and quality records to ensure conformance.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, security, and compliance requirements across manufacturing and testing activities.
  • Quality Oversight, Inspection & Testing
  • Establish and maintain inspection and testing procedures for fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and final product verification.
  • Oversee calibration, inspection, and test equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze defects, nonconformances, scrap, rework, and warranty issues.
  • Provide quality oversight throughout all phases of manufacturing, including vehicle or complex program builds.
  • Supplier Quality Management
  • Lead and improve the supplier quality program, including risk assessment, audits, and improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to ensure supplier compliance with quality and contractual requirements.
  • Drive structured supplier corrective actions and long-term quality improvements.
  • Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement
  • Define, track, and report quality KPIs such as first-pass yield, defect trends, audit results, and customer returns.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on systemic quality issues and implement preventive solutions.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, compliance awareness, and continuous improvement.
  • Customer & Cross-Functional Engagement
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and escalations.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management to integrate quality throughout the product lifecycle—from design through shipment.
  • Ensure timely communication, investigation, and resolution of customer quality issues.
  • People Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Department, including Quality Engineers, Inspectors, Technicians, and QA Coordinators.
  • Provide training on quality standards, procedures, and best practices to both hourly and salaried employees.
  • Foster a strong quality mindset, professional growth, and high-performance culture within the team.
  • Other Duties
  • Support mission assurance, reporting requirements, and other responsibilities as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Directly supervises the Quality Department staff, including Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Quality Technicians.
  • Responsible for performance management, training, and professional development of the team.
