We are looking for a Plant Quality Manager at our Frankfort, Indiana facility. The Quality Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager and will directly supervise 1 Quality Engineer and 1 Quality Technician employee. The Quality Manager ensures a safe work environment, drives quality improvements, develops a qualified workforce, reduces operating costs, inventories, and lead times through continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or 3 - 5 years' experience in quality related field with experience in automotive manufacturing and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Exceptional working knowledge of Quality Assurance Systems development and management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Quality Assurance Program
  • Responsible for maintaining effective controls which ensure product integrity from initial sample submission through mass production.
  • Ensure customer requirements have been met: selection of special characteristics; setting quality objectives; training; corrective/preventive action; product design and development; customer scorecard review; and customer portal review.
  • Ensure sample submission practices meet customer requirements completely.
  • Review and research products/processes for quality improvement.
  • Manage customer complaint follow-up through root-cause correction action.
  • Write, review, revise, and update standard practices to document the control of quality systems.
  • Manage QA records and reports to assure compliance to customer requirements.
  • Perform Quality Systems audits to assure compliance to customer requirements.
  • Follow instructions and directions of Director of Quality Assurance.
  • Perform supplier quality system audits (as needed).
  • Manage hold area (Suspect Material Containment and Material Review Board)
  • Supervise Quality Technicians, Precision Lab Technicians, and Quality Engineers
  • Lead quality systems initiatives such as implementation of new tools, systems, gauging equipment, and software.
  • Develop, train, and assist other areas in statistical analysis methods and tools for problem solving.
  • Organize, prepare, and act as management representative during IATF 16949 or other customer and third-party audits.
