Core Responsibilities: Develop and manage quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of product. Support the QMS development and revision of procedures. Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualifications/demonstrated capability studies. Analyze test results and prepare statistical reports for plant management. Design, develop, approve, and implement NDT training courses, procedures, and exams. Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including product non-conformances, demonstrated capability studies, corrective actions, and re-validations. Assist in investigating customer claims and/or complaints. Assist in quality audits including customer, API, and ISO Maintain and continually improve the QMS. Interpret Standards (API/ISO/ASTM/ASME or Customer Specs) to update/ revise procedures and communicate with the team. Maintain and improve product quality by completing product, compliance, and surveillance audits. Investigate and evaluate NDT imperfections and/or defects via hands-on and/or by signal chart review. Lead and manage the NDT program. Lead and manage the QMS. Manage the team's work schedules to support production. Evaluate and audit other NDT systems/programs as required by Benteler Shreveport. Assist with customer claims and/or complaints regarding NDT defects and/or imperfections

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering/Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience is required or10 years of experience in NDT Level II UT, MT, ET, and Magnetic flux inspection of tubular products
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or related field required.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the Quality Control or Assurance area, as the Quality Manager or Team Lead in steel tube manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of tubular and/ or steel manufacturing required.
  • Knowledge of API / ASTM/ ISO standards and specifications required.
  • Knowledge of NDT testing is required.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Testing of tubular products required.
  • Must be able to manage all aspects of process control development preferred.
  • Ability to organize and explain complex data in a clear manner.
  • Demonstrated capability of results through people, technology, and process.
  • Strong safety awareness and experience.
  • SAP & general knowledge preferred (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office Suites required (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Appropriate advanced degree (MS in an engineering or technical field and/or MBA) is a plus
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • ISO/Q1 Audit certification preferred
