As a team we collaborate to solve problems, contributeideas and challenge each other to ensure growth and ultimatelysuccess for the business and our employees.Job ResponsibilitiesAs aQuality Assurance Technician, you will verify product conformanceto EVRAZ standard requirements and customer specifications usingnon-destructive testing methods, gauges, and visual inspection. Youwill investigate routine metallurgical problems, determinecompliance with specifications and evaluate products utilizingmicroscope, hardness, and tensile machines. You will preparesamples using lathes grinders, cut-off machines, power saws, drillpresses, milling and turning machines, polishing equipment, andmeasuring tools. You will work with various measuring devices, handtools, materials, supplies, equipment, and necessary safetyequipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high regard forsafety. Measure and visually inspect for adherence to process sheets,standard practices and specifications Verify, audit, identify and record product and equipment Review process sheets for customer order requirements Operates all equipment needed to complete the job which mayinclude grinders, cutting torch, gauges, mobile equipment, androbotics Assist operators in change overs Reject, determine, disposition, sort and identify product Prepare necessary reports, records and counts for traceabilityand inventory purpose Keeps work area and equipment clean and orderly Perform duties as needed in keeping mill operational, includingroutine maintenance and assists Maintenance personnel Adhere to all appropriate Standard Operating Procedures Utilize necessary safety equipment and observe all safety rulesand lock out proceduresJob Requirements Possess an understanding of the basic manufacturing process andfamiliarity with heavy industry, manufacturing, or mining; or aclosely related field Competent in manipulating numbers, quantities, shapes andspaces; able to take simple measurements and perform basicmathematical operations (e.g., addition, subtraction, division,decimals, fractions) Ability to accurately read precision measurement tools,experience with gauges, micrometers, NDT flaw detectors and machineshop equipment Qualified Level I non-destructive testing background orequivalent preferred Quality control experience in a manufacturing and metallurgicalbackground; knowledge of ISO standards, preferred 4 year Technical Degree preferred Must meet and maintain Inspector entry level qualificationsconcerning literacy, experience, training, testing, courses andcertification Ability to safely and appropriately operate, power and handtools, machinery, and mobile equipment; 12 months experiencepreferred Obtain and maintain safety and equipment certifications, asrequired Ability to convey and understand information effectively andsafely, including speaking over a public address system Ability to work in both inside and outside environmentalconditions, with exposure to elevated noise levels, extreme heatand cold, physical hazards - close proximity to moving parts, hotsurfaces, pinch points, sparks, sharp edges, high pressure air,oxygen and gas lines (atmospheric conditions may require the use ofa respirator) Must be able to work in a physically demanding manufacturingenvironment, which will include but not be limited to repetition,climbing, kneeling, standing, crawling, consistent exertion offorces up to 50 pounds or more Valid driver's license preferred - required for certainpositions within the scope of Quality Assurance Must be willing to work varied shifts (3 shift rotation) andany days of the week Must be 18 years of age Qualified Candidates will be required to demonstrateproficiency through testingThe above statement reflects the generaldetails considered necessary to describe the principal functions ofthe job identified, and shall not be constructed as a detaileddescription of all of the work requirements that may be inherent inthe job.Compensation $26.46 per hour Shift differentialOur total compensation package includesamazing benefits!
