About The Position

Under the supervision of the Quality Supervisor, and guidance of the Quality Lead and Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector performs the Receiving Inspections and the Production Inspections. The Quality inspector will aid the Quality Lead, Quality Supervisor, and Quality Manager in driving continuous improvement with the manufacturing established processes. This position is responsible for visual and dimensional inspection of parts during processes involved in decorating, printing and packing plastic tubes; prepares and updates the QA Set-Up and Line Clearance Approval Form; identifies quality issues and communicates them to peers and supervisory personnel; coordinates quality related corrective actions with QA department and with other supporting departments

Requirements

  • Proficient in English (speak/read/write)
  • Competent with basic math operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and production personnel.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Excellent color perception. Must pass Farnsworth & Munsell test for color discrimination.
  • Ability to work in and promote team environment.
  • Computer proficient, to include Microsoft Suites
  • Knowledge of QA Testing Instruments (i.e. calipers, torque machine, lift force machine, micrometer, microscope)
  • 1 – 2 years recent and continuous as a visual Quality Control inspector in Injection Molding, container Decorating or Printing industries, preferably in plastics manufacturing or similar environment.
  • High School diploma or GED certificate plus minimum 2 – 3 years of recent applicable inspection experience.

  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus, but not mandatory

Responsibilities

  • While utilizing the Production Schedule, prepare and update QA files prior to fabrication
  • Prepares and updates the QA Set-Up and Line Clearance Approval Form and takes necessary and appropriate action.
  • Ensures the production line is prepared to run and monitors periodically product quality during shift.
  • Identifies quality issues and promptly informs packers, machine operator, print technician, peers and/or supervisory personnel for prompt corrective action.
  • Coordinates corrective actions within QA department or appropriate support department.
  • Prepares quality reports on random product sampling Acceptance Quality Level.
  • Create QA End of Shift Report.
  • Generate the Off-Quality Material Disposition when components fail to meet customer specifications.
  • Coordinate the QA Documentation files (Standards, Color, Samples, and Retains) on shift.
  • Aids concerning quality-related issues in the production lines.
  • Assists in training of production personnel.
