About The Position

Summary/Objective The Quality Systems & Compliance Manager is responsible for maintaining the quality assurance systems and ensuring the compliance with BRC requirements and FSMA regulations. The position occasionally tests incoming raw materials, in-process, and finished product, using variety of testing devices and procedures to maintain product quality. Quality Control Testing and Documentation Maintain documentation used in the QC lab on a daily basis. Elevate updates accordingly. Execute, review, and update the following prerequisite programs to maintain GFSI certification (including but not limited to): Environmental testing program FG micro testing program RM micro testing program Hold and release program Control and retain samples maintenance & testing Rework release program Mock recall program Pest control program Annual employee training Customer complaint program HACCP program Supplier approval program Quality Lab Maintenance and Calibration Conduct daily and weekly calibration of lab equipment. Coordinate equipment that needs to be sent out for calibration. Order lab supplies as needed to keep lab materials in stock. Complete the Quality Lab MSS and maintain the MSS for the facility. Quality Assurance Internal Audits Conduct internal audits at the set frequency for GMP’s and follow up with corrective actions. Collaborate with coworkers in other departments to rectify audit violations. Contribute to the continuing improvement process to enable Pullman Sugar to be GFSI qualified. Food Safety Monitor and enforce requirements of SSOP, GMP, and HACCP programs. Conduct hazard analyses of finished products, raw materials, and process lines. Must be comfortable running an audit and interfacing with customers/auditors during an audit. Ability to conduct HACCP reviews for new equipment, processes, and materials. Non-essential Job Functions Other duties as specified. This position will be backed up by the Quality Director as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Food Science preferred
  • PCQI training required
  • HACCP training required
  • Understanding of FSMA compliance requirements
  • Trained in internal auditing
  • Ability to use a computer and navigate an ERP system (Microsoft Navision preferred)
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Technical skills in testing and using lab equipment
  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a lab setting with emphasis in the sugar or food and beverage industry preferred.
  • Experience with GFSI audits, BRC preferred, and being an active participant in audits.
