About The Position

Wills Eye Hospital is hiring a Quality and Infection Prevention Coordinator in Philadelphia, PA . In this role, you’ll support the facilitation of the Hospital’s Quality/Patient Safety plans . This is a Full-Time 40 hours per week opportunity for someone who wants to be responsible for the facility infection prevention and control program (IPCP), which is designed to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment and to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections Why Join Wills Eye At Wills Eye Hospital, you’ll be part of a nationally recognized leader in ophthalmology and vision care. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Five to ten years of healthcare experience, preferably in an acute care or Hospital facility .
  • Certification in Infection prevention ( required within 1 year of hire) .
  • Highly effective analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills .
  • Strong knowledge of performance improvement methodologies and statistical process control tools .

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in nursing .
  • Certification in Health Care Quality or Lean Six Sigma preferred or proven experience in quality/process improvement and regulatory compliance .

Responsibilities

  • Supports the analysis of quality, patient safety and infection prevention data.
  • Serves as subject matter expert to Hospital, physician, ancillary and operations leaders and staff in the development and implementation of strategies to achieve optimal results
  • Mentors and coaches unit and department directors/managers in infection prevention, quality and patient safety goals as well as contributes to the development of unit based action plans that translate into positive patient outcomes
  • Analyzes facility specific results to identify opportunities for risk reduction and the development of successful action plans
  • Complies with the reportable disease requirements of the County and/or State Health Department and any data submission requirements of NHSN.
  • Provides infection control surveillance applying epidemiologic principles and statistical methods, including risk stratification.
  • Analyzes trends and risk factors and designs and evaluates hospital infection prevention and control strategies.
