WE ARE LOOKING FOR A QUALITY ANALYST SENIORITY LEVEL: ENTRY LEVEL FUNCTION: OPERATIONS SERVICES – QUALITY LOCATION: TOBACCOVILLE, NC ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES The Quality Analyst is responsible for quality control in the production areas including acceptance of incoming materials, evaluation and release of materials, work in process, and finished products per procedural requirements and specifications. This role requires the use of data analysis and report generation to support production operations and support continuous improvement initiatives. Travel Required 10%

Requirements

  • Strong Quality background or related field
  • Knowledge of tobacco manufacturing processes
  • Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office Professional Suite)
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with a keen sense of urgency
  • Quality conscious with attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to work varying shifts and different hours based on business need
  • BS degree (Entry); or Associate degree with relevant experience (2+ yrs); or High School diploma or equivalent with relevant experience (5+ yrs)
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Regular attendance at work

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with high precision measuring devices
  • Results oriented with the ability to prioritize and multi task
  • Experience in conducting correlation studies and interpreting the results
  • Basic knowledge of statistics relating to data analysis
  • Ability to read design drawings and interpret dimensions and tolerances
  • Knowledge of and experience with MES and Pilgrim software programs
  • Previous Quality experience in manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of TPMP regulations

Responsibilities

  • Ensure fitness for use of raw materials prior to use in production through testing and/or COA review
  • Ensure quality of production including quality audit and evaluation of finished product and work in process against specification
  • Enter non-conformances, as appropriate, and determine disposition of non-conforming materials, work in process and finished products
  • Coordinate and manage supplier activities within RJRT facilities to address Non-Conformance authorizing rework or rejection of materials
  • Conduct data analysis to support daily operations, supplier performance, and troubleshooting, maintain records of test results, generate reports, and interpret results
  • Communicate with internal receiving on movements of materials
  • Support the manufacturing Production Associates in their IWS efforts toward stopping the stops
  • Complete required FDA regulatory training
  • Be aware of the Company environmental, health & safety policies and comply with the objectives as it relates to the role
  • Follow Company Safety Rules
  • Know the potential health & safety risks and environmental impacts of work activities and understand role in mitigating these impacts
  • Understand responsibilities for compliance with regulatory requirements and Company standards
  • Immediately report all injuries and illnesses
  • Participate in EHS programs as required by assigned site/role (e.g., PULSAR safety observation program, Safety Triggers)
