About The Position

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, processes, and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications to liabilities, processes, and procedures. Review Surface Preparation and Coating Application Records to ensure records are auditable complete prior to each inspection and sending to Records Department for final record review. Coating’s Gauge Coordinator, tracking gauges through Indysoft and Calibration Lab department. Utilize spreadsheets to track areas of concerns with Coating Records between QA Department and Trades. Perform deck plate observation on coating inspection looking for opportunities of innovation and training. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience
  • One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice To Haves

  • NBPI or NACE 1
  • Familiar with HII-NNS coating’s records and processes
