About The Position

The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) / Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for the daily oversight and coordination of ICF-ID programs and ensuring high-quality services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role manages program implementation, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance processes while supporting residential and day habilitation programs. The QIDP serves as Chairperson of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and works closely with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure individualized programming, safety, and compliance with all state and federal standards. This position also works closely with the Facilities & Safety Manager to ensure regulatory standards are maintained across administrative offices, clinics, and residential homes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in community or educational programs
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in residential program environments
  • Proficient in reading and writing English
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • SAMA Certification
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Current auto liability insurance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities and individualized programming
  • Ability to de-escalate crisis situations and respond quickly in emergencies
  • Strong leadership, judgment, and decision-making abilities

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individual Program Plans (IPP) in coordination with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
  • Serve as Chairperson for IDT meetings and act as liaison between team members.
  • Coordinate services with medical providers, therapists, families, and case managers.
  • Monitor implementation of consumer programming and active treatment.
  • Ensure individuals receive timely medical care in accordance with physician orders.
  • Promote community inclusion opportunities for consumers.
  • Routinely observe consumers during programming hours.
  • Conduct regular audits of residential homes (ICF, ALF, and other facilities).
  • Monitor compliance with state and federal licensing standards .
  • Maintain life safety binders and required compliance documentation .
  • Participate in regulatory surveys, inspections, and follow-ups.
  • Review incident reports and ensure corrective action when necessary.
  • Maintain and update consumer records in the TDHS CARE system .
  • Ensure all ICAPs and required documentation remain current.
  • Monitor staff performance and ensure adequate staff-to-consumer ratios .
  • Provide on-the-spot training and ongoing in-service education.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings for training and communication.
  • Support disciplinary procedures in coordination with HR and the Director .
  • Assist with new employee orientation for the ICF-ID unit .
  • Conduct property inspections and review safety logs.
  • Assist with department budget review and resource allocation.
  • Maintain open communication with leadership regarding program operations.
  • Ensure completion and submission of required documentation and reports.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during emergency situations.
  • Maintain 24-hour availability for program support when needed .
