The Role Vehicle quality is one of the strongest drivers of customer retention. As the Quality/Reliability/Durability (QRD) Lead for Body Structures and Closures, you will play a critical role in elevating that experience. In this role, you will partner closely with Global Vehicle Hardware & Engineering, Global Quality, and Manufacturing to influence design, resolve issues, and drive measurable improvements. The ideal candidate brings strong product engineering fundamentals, proven data-analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate and lead effectively across functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in product development and/or product quality.
  • Technical knowledge of body structures and/or closures components and vehicle-level integration
  • Proven leadership communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead teams through issues
  • Strong track record of structured problem solving, risk management, and decisive execution
  • Results-driven mindset

  • Familiarity with GM Vehicle Program processes, tools, and deliverables
  • Consistent demonstration of GM Behaviors, including integrity, collaboration, resilience, accountability, and continuous learning

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize QRD data to track progress toward KSI targets.
  • Develop gap-to-target plans and partner cross-functionally to deliver on glidepath commitments.
  • Present quality metric status, trends, and forecasts to leadership at multiple levels.
  • Coach cross-functional partners on quality data and tools; collaborate with SMTs to drive root‑cause analysis, develop solutions, and implement vehicle-level improvements.
  • Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset and actively build technical capability in the role.
