About The Position

The Clinician - QMHP or Qualified Mental Health Professional, will provide mobile crisis response to Horizon's catchment area in community settings, including, but not limited to, homes, schools and places of employment or education. Mobile crisis response will include assessing crisis situations and providing de-escalation and support for individuals who are actively experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Clinicians will have ongoing support and clinical guidance from a licensed supervisor. Services will typically be delivered using a team response model. Qualifications will require either a QMHP-A or QMHP-C registration with the Board of Counseling and registration as a QMHP-Trainee if the candidate does not have dual registration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field
  • A minimum of one year of documented clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience that qualifies the incumbent as a QMHP
  • Knowledge of behavior modification, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT); emergency interventions, family, group, and individual therapy, psychosocial education, risk assessments, substance use interventions, etc.
  • Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individual's treatment and access to community resources.
  • Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, developmental disability and substance use disorders.
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and develop appropriate responses or techniques.
  • Ability to perform clinical interviews in order to obtain information and to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changes in the work environment in a positive and professional manner.
  • Ability to record data and complete documentation within established expectations and by communicated deadlines.
  • Willing and able to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as needed.
  • Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license.
  • May be required to travel to different Horizon worksites during the day based on operational needs.
  • Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may also require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.
