QMAs will provide medications and nursing care to residents, as supervised by the community nurse. This role involves performing the functions of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and accurately administering various types of medications (oral, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and optic) as prescribed, excluding injectable or chemotherapeutic medications. The QMA is responsible for observing and reporting the effects of administered drugs to the licensed nurse, and administering PRN medications and treatments only with authorization. The position requires maintaining accurate medication records, keeping the LPN/RN informed of resident conditions, and adhering to privacy and confidentiality policies, including HIPAA. Other duties may be assigned.
