About The Position

The Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) reports to the Program Director, DC-IDD and is responsible for the day-to-day operation and customer service of the residential facilities. This includes supervising and training the Direct Support Professionals, being available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to ensure around-the-clock safety and supervision. The QIDP provides day-to-day supervision of DSPs to ensure their duties and responsibilities are completed. The role also involves running appointments and day program drops as needed, maintaining house/program budget, scheduling staff in a manner which limits overtime, working shifts as needed (to meet the staffing ratio needs), and maintaining a safe and orderly program in accordance with the Scope of Work and with Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field.
  • Min (1) year of experience working with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to Participate in weekend on-call rotation.
  • Must have a current CPR/First Aid Certification and maintained once employed.
  • Must be a certified TME. If already employed, must obtain a TME certification in the next 6 months from the date this JD is signed.
  • Attend training activities, meetings and routine supervision with the Director of Operations.
  • Excellent Computer Skills in Microsoft Office and office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to for conflict resolutions.
