About The Position

Founded in Denmark, BMS Heavy Cranes is a global player in crane solutions for wind energy, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Moving some of the world’s most ambitious projects, BMS Heavy Cranes is growing fast in the United States and is looking for a QHSE Manager with strong experience in heavy-lift cranes and ideally a background in the wind industry. Our U.S. operations have expanded rapidly—from just two cranes to 20+ cranes in only a few years—supported by a growing team of more than 70 employees. You will be joining a close-knit, international team where every hire makes an impact, and you will be responsible for monitoring compliance, supporting operational planning, and providing practical guidance to field teams to ensure safe and efficient project execution. You will have frequent opportunities to visit project sites, in the US and Canada, staying close to operations, observing practices firsthand, and fostering a strong culture of safety and quality. The U.S. team operates with a strong spirit of entrepreneurship, backed by deep technical expertise and a collaborative culture. Requirements

  • Experience in an QHSE role, preferably in heavy lifting, construction, or wind energy operations.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 14001:2015 standards.
  • Experience coordinating QHSE activities across multiple sites.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken) and MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% across the US and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily QHSE compliance in all operational processes.
  • Administer the QHSE management system, including reporting, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Identify and assess QHSE risks in collaboration with project managers and field teams.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate QHSE procedures and standards in line with company policies and legislation.
  • Conduct internal and customer audits, supporting continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present QHSE statistics and insights to management.
  • Conduct regular site visits across the U.S. and Canada to ensure safe working practices, equipment readiness, and regulatory compliance—promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Collaborate closely with the Global QHSE Directorand operations leadership to align global best practices with regional requirements
  • Guide the response to incidents and near misses, including investigation, documentation, and communication with authorities.
  • Prepare concise weekly/monthly reports for management, including photos, site visit summaries, and improvement actions.
