We are looking for a Quality Control Lab Technician to join our Dispersions team in Monaca, PA. Come create chemistry with us! During your rotating 12-hour shift as a QC Lab Technician, you will Principal Responsibilities Actively supporting and promoting a safe working environment, participating in all safety trainings and programs, and supporting Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security plant initiatives. Using a variety of testing equipment including GCs, HPLC, FTIR, Spectrophotometers, Viscometers, Ovens, balances, pH meters, Microscopy, LIMS & SAP data systems. Using appropriate software to evaluate data based on internal and external specifications, procedure requirements, and LIMS programming, as well as entering information into SAP software. Quality assurance testing of in-process and finished latex products within the scope of the BASF Quality Policy and ISO 9001 Quality Management System which includes testing using pH, viscosity, gas chromatography, and other analytical techniques. Other testing as required including waste water samples. Performing bacteria testing Supporting the continuous improvement of lab and plant processes through QA/QC activities, instrument troubleshooting and maintenance, and meeting/exceeding customer expectations. Interacting with the Supply Chain and Operations departments at the Monaca site to expedite shipments to customers utilizing SAP Available to work rotating 12 hour shifts 7:30am-7:30pm and vice versa and overtime when needed Process Safety Management Responsibilities Process safety roles and responsibilities across the organization are clearly defined and include an expectation to raise, and authority to respond to process safety concerns. Employees understand the importance of process safety as it applies to their jobs and are responsible for following and contributing to the work processes to achieve improvement in company process safety performance. Formula for Success ... 2 yr Associates degree or technical degree in Chemistry/Analytical testing OR related field with lab experience OR High School Diploma/GED with minimum 2+ years of relevant industrial lab experience required. Experience working in a manufacturing environment on a 12 hour rotating shift Experience with Microsoft Office products; Word, PowerPoint, Excel and ability to operate various computer-controlled instruments. Knowledge of testing equipment found in laboratory setting; GCs, HPLC, FTIRS, Viscometers Basic understanding of general chemistry, techniques of quality assuarance and quality control Basic understanding of math, statistics, analytical methodology, insight into problem solving, and ability to record and report pertinent data. On occasion, must be able to lift up to a maximum of 30 lbs. Must be able to follow both written procedures, verbal instructions and follow all applicable safety procedures including correct personal protective equipment. Willing and available to work rotating 12 hour shifts (7:30am-7:30pm and vice versa) and overtime when required
