This position is responsible for inspecting product and processes in various areas including Lamination, Small Parts, and P.I. The inspector verifies that parts are built to print, comply with rules and regulations, and meet hardcopy option specifications. They also check that parts adhere to cosmetic standards for gelcoat. Key functions include timely and efficient inspection consistent with production rates, inspecting interior/exterior finish to specified standards, identifying different lamination glass types, bracing types, structural adhesives, and various defects in fiberglass (e.g., air, voids, rough glass, delamination) and gel coat surfaces (e.g., stress cracks, thin gel, pits, porosity, pattern). The role involves verifying parts against lamination prints and construction records, ensuring correct placement and bonding of secondary structures, auditing process adherence in production areas, and confirming proper foam injection into liner cavities. All findings and variables are entered into the QC2 system, and the inspector works with Production to identify improvement opportunities and assist in determining solutions. Other duties may be assigned.
