About The Position

QA/QC Inspectors will test welders and sample and inspect raw materials, fabricated, machined, assembled structures, and industrial processes for quality, deviations, or defects according to specifications. This position will also inspect welds, flange assemblies, and weld map. Qualification Highlights Must have a current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certificate or Quality Control experience. Must have 3+ years of experience working as a welding inspector. Must be able to meet all physical requirements. Must be able to work at heights more than 300 ft. Must have all required tools. Must have reliable transportation.

Requirements

Must have CWI certification or QC experience.
Must have 3+ years’ experience as a CWI inspector or QC experience
Must have extensive knowledge of multiple types of welding processes, and the materials used for each process.
Must have good interpersonal skills.
Must be organized
Must have good oral communication skills
Must be able to work in Excel and Microsoft Office
Must be a team player and have effective communication skill in dealing with co-workers and any other work-related contacts.
Must have basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.
Must be able to use problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks.
Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
Must be able to work at heights.
Must have reliable transportation.

Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
Experience working as a welder on industrial construction projects.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
Inspect, approve, or reject welds according to specifications.
Inspect raw materials.
Provide information regarding processes and specifications to welders, supervisors, and other appropriate members.
Will test welders for qualifications.
Will interact and coordinate efforts with contracted or internal weld x-ray teams.
Supervise and review project requirements, determine minimal requirements and procedures, and schedule and coordinate required examinations, inspections, or tests for the discipline or project segment assigned to.
Supervises or performs examinations, inspections, or tests as project management and/or client requires.
Assists management in selecting and/or testing personnel to perform specific work activities to ensure work meets project requirements.
Supervises or schedules examinations, inspections, or tests as required by project for discipline assigned to.
Supervises, completes and maintains inspection, test, examination, and Quality Control Records.
Assures implementation of job site Quality Control Program.
Trains and evaluates Quality Control Personnel.
Provide reports to Quality Assurance Control on program status and personnel performance as required.
Coordinates discipline examination, inspection, and test plans with Quality Control personnel, project management, and client representatives.
